PeopleSoft CORE HR Refresh and Audit Processes

When I started my career as a beginner, I wondered if someone could explain me the basic processes associated with PeopleSoft-HRMS. The reply I would get from my seniors is to go through peoplebooks. To be frank, I struggled even to find out which Peoplebook to read from at that stage. Now that I am little aware of HCM(if not entirely), I am sharing my knowledge on the PeopleSoft CORE HR processes. These are the Refresh processes to be run to have data for reporting purpose accurately reflected. Out of the total six listed below, only four of them are the CORE HR Application engine programs while the remaining two are places where we set options for these processes.

    1. PERSONAL_DATA Settings:
    Object Definition Name
    Process Name
    PERSON_DT_SETUP
    NA

    Navigation:
Set Up HRMS > System Administration > Database Processes > PERSONAL_DATA Settings

    Description of the Process:
These selections must be made during HRMS installation. PeopleSoft only uses EmplID and Name data. Select the required options to meet the adhoc reporting and query needs.

Select all the data options that needs to be refreshed while running Refresh Personal Data process. Fewer the options, faster the system can refresh the table. Based on these settings only Refresh Personal data process runs.

    1. Refresh Personal Data:
    Object Definition Name
    Process Name
    PRCSRUNCNTL
    RUN_PERS_REFRESH

    Navigation:
Set Up HRMS > System Administration > Database Processes > Refresh Personal Data

    Description of the Process:
Refresh the Personal Data component. The Refresh Personal Data component (PERS_REFRESH) loads the data types that you selected on the PERSONAL_DATA Settings page.

This process should only be run when the PERSONAL_DATA settings are changed. This program will lock the PERSONAL_DATA table for updates during processing. To read my earlier posts on Refreshing Personal Data, click on:
    1) NAME is not getting updated in PERSONAL_DATA record
    2) PERSONAL_DATA record not getting updated properly

    1. Refresh EMPLOYEES Table:
    Object Definition Name
    Process Name
    RUNCTL_ASOF_DATE
    RUN_PER099

    Navigation:
Set Up HRMS > System Administration > Database Processes > Refresh EMPLOYEES Table

    Description of the Process:
Refreshes the PS_EMPLOYEES snapshot table as of the selected date.

    1. Update Personal Data-Future:
    Object Definition Name
    Process Name
    PRCSRUNCNTL
    RUN_PERSDATA_FUT

    Navigation:
Set Up HRMS > System Administration > Database Processes > Update Personal Data-Future

    Description of the Process:
Run this process shortly after midnight to update the Personal Data component. The process will update data with future dated information that has become current.
The Update Personal Data-Future process runs the HR_PERSDATA application engine program.

    1. Refresh Name Display Values:
    Object Definition Name
    Process Name
    NAME_DISPLAY_RC
    NA

    Navigation:
Set Up HRMS > System Administration > Database Processes > Refresh Name Display Values

    Description of the Process:
Refresh all records with the NAME_DISPLAY and NAME_FORMAL fields to reflect changes made to the PeopleCode definition of those fields. The definition is done in peoplecode in the function - Format_display_name written in  NAMEGBL_SBR.COUNTRY_NM_FORMAT.SavePreChange.

Either just with one name format type or all name format types can be updated in the following records: NAMES, Dependents, HS Non-Employees, French Public Sector and US Federal Names

    1. HR Core Data Integrity Audit:
    Object Definition Name
    Process Name
    HRAUDIT
    RUN_PER900

    Navigation:
Set Up HRMS > System Administration > Database Processes > Core HR Data Integrity Audit > HR Core Data Integrity Audit

    Description of the Process:
Initiates the Core Human Resources Data Integrity Audit.
